USP 797 & USP 800 Compliance

Effective November 2023, updates to USP 797 and USP 800 became enforceable. USP 797 establishes standards for sterile compounding to ensure accuracy and avoid contamination of sterile products. Whereas USP 800 highlights recommendations and processes for the handling of hazardous drugs. Our Team will provide the oversight  and guidance to ensure regulatory compliance.

USP 797

Substantial changes have been made to USP Chapter 797. These new changes directly impacted how facilities handle compounded sterile products and hazardous medication. The revisions to USP 797 require significant changes in the training and evaluation of all staff members, and in some cases, visitors to your facility.

USP 800

Effective November 1, 2023, USP 800 revised the standards for the safe handling of hazardous drugs to minimize the risk of exposure to healthcare personnel, patients, and the environment. These changes affect all healthcare personnel who receive, prepare, administer, transport or otherwise come in contact with hazardous drugs, and all entities that store, prepare transport or administer hazardous drugs.
